Travis scott style of hip hop is unique, as he is a rapper, singer and producer he has been able to utilize these skills and take inspiration from various different artists and apply these in to his own work. For example, often his instrumentals resemble those of 'dirty south' producing pioneer and travis own mentor. mike dean, while his often psychedelic and distorted 'auto tune' and vocoder- esque singing style reflects that of Kayne on his album '808s & heartbreak'.

Musically, Travis Scott was heavily influenced by rapper and former Kayne West protege Kid Cudi.
you can often see this in the similarities between their music as both artists constantly simulate a 'dream-like' state in their music and videos, often reflecting the effects of psychedelic drugs. a prime example for this is in the music video ' just what i am' featuring king chip, in which he raps or sings in the chorus ''i wanna get high y'all,need it to get by y'all''. the music video attempts to reflect the effects of being 'high' this is done by using editing techniques such as mirror images and distorted overlays to create a psychedelic.
